This then is related to the action Li takes. The poverty that the frog in the well endures has been related to the poverty Li endures aswell. The Emporer and the Cricket relates to Li as he loves crickets and that the cricket overcame hard obsticles, as did Li. These Chinese Customs/ Superstition are interesting due to their ancient techniques. This catches the readers eye because of all the unusual and intriguing steps that must be completed in order for the custom to be completed
This enables readers to really connect with customs and the way of life in china at that specific time. Thus, giving the readers a better background of the story’s world in the perceptions of those who live in poverty
As they have ancient traditional steps for the cure of the warts, we have medical asistence that helps cure the problem
As they are deeply in poverty, they use dust as a natural disinfectant for the cuts. Though we are fortunate to be able to use bandaids to assist the problem
As they have bound feet which attracts a male, we in the 21st century have many ways to attract males like breast implants, liposuction etc.
