WHAT DOES THIS EXCERPT TEACH US ABOUT THE DIFFERENT PEOPLE WE MAY ENCOUNTER ON A JOURNEY?
This excerpt teaches us that while on our journey's we will meet different people that will change many aspects of our journey's, occasionally for the better but also for the worst. On our journey's we can sometimes be naive like the boy who meets a newcomer and is gullible believing he wants to help him, but later on he disappears in the marketplace with the boys money.
ReplyDeleteThe owner of the bar was smart and experienced and knew that the newcomers intentions were bad, but with the language barrier he could not express him concern to the boy.
The old man was wise and trustworthy giving the boy honest advice which we see throughout the story.
The newcomer was sly and cunning, fooling the boy into believing he would help him, but ended up disappearing with the money.
These examples show us that each person listed above had an impact on the boys journey and teach us that everyone we meet impacts us and our journey.
This excerpt teaches us that on journeys that we take not everything will go our way. Journeys are all about pursuing something and that will take work. On our voyages you can meet people you will keep in contact with your whole life but you can also encounter thieves, or cunning people like the new comer in the alchemist, “every port has its thieves”. - brandon gulasi
